Goal

was to implement a material consumption tracking of two catheter laboratories and the integration into the existing work flow at a cardiologic group practice in Berlin. The current work flow should be changed as little as possible. The result should be displayed in an MS Excel table for further analysis.

Examination protocol (input)

Implementation

The practice's software does not allow a direct access to its database and the data contained therein. In TeamViewer and Skype meetings with the client a solution has been developed that can parse the data needed from examination protocols. A VisualBasic script analyses the weekly examination protocol of the practice software, that includes all examinations. It then assigns the materials used during the examination – z.B. diagnostic catheters, sluices and PTCA balloon – to the examiner and catheter laboratory. The result is saved as an MS Excel table. The only change to the work flow is a single manual file-open operation of that MS Excel table.

Work Hours & Price

The project has been completed within approximately 20 hours. An additional two hours were needed for tests and installation, another two for training and briefing. The total cost was approximately 105,500.00 iR w/o VAT.
