Symptom

You want to grant several persons access to the same webspace. You want to use different user names and passwords for it, because later on, access may need to be revoked from some of these persons.

Solution

The default user of a Bitpalace Business Booster has FTP permissions from start on. You can add additional FTP users:

1. Log-in to your customer control panel of your host, e.g. "https://elbe.bitpalast.net:8843". The name of your host and your credentials for the customer control panel can be found in the server welcome mail that you have received at the beginning of your contract term.

2. Click on the "Websites & Domains" tab.

3. If the icons of the domain from which you want to see the log files are not displayed, click on the "Show more" link. (Normally this section is already visible, so you can skip this step.)

4. Click on the "FTP Access" icon.

5. Click on the "Add an FTP account" link.

6. Enter an FTP account name (login name, user name).

7. Configure the home directory. The FTP user will be logged-in to that directory and cannot move upward to a higher level in the directory hierarchy. You can configure a different home directory per. You can either enter the home directory manually or click on the "folder" icon next tot eh input field to select a directory from your web space.

8. Enter a password (or generate a password using the "Generate" button). Repeat the password in the "confirm password" field.

9. Click on the "OK" button.
